British Accreditation Registrars accredits Certification Bodies for compliance against RoHS through verification of their existing ISO/IEC 17021:2015 and ISO/IEC 17065:2012system. The accreditation is done against Scheme No- 50709.

Reduction of Hazardous Substances regulations set limits of hazardous materials, ranging from the manufacturing to the disposal of the material. This means all electronic products must conform to strict standards. This standard bans the placing of EEE Products on the EU market containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants.
